This is the
home of The Baseball Field. Your source
for everything you'll ever need if you're a true
TBF fan. Here you'll find an almost insane
collection of MP3's as well as some videos.
Feel free to
download and share my music as much as you
like. Everything is absolutely free, although
copyrighted by me of course.
You can also buy some of my recordings.
Cassettes, 7" vinyl and CD-R's. Drop me a line
and we'll work something out. They're
unimaginably cheap.
I'm proud and happy to announce that my new
album will be released in just a few weeks time
on
Arctic Nutter Records. Wich means I'm
sharing label with such amazing bands/artists
like Tada Tátā, Johan Hedberg, Hovstaterna and
White Town. Many thanks to Mattias for making it
happen!

Just wanted to let You know that I'm currently
recording my new album. Hence the lack of
activity on this site. (Not that there were much
to begin with..) I'm also directing this thing
called
Lundafesten with my friend Hedvig and some
other loose cats of ours. It's going to be lots
of fun. Since that site is in swedish, and/or if
you're linguistically challenged, I strongly
recommend the translation service provided by
Google. Lots of fun!
And oh yeah -
Here's
a little taster of what's to come. I'm still
writing/recording a lot at home, but soon I'll
take this stuff to My friend Fredrik and
Sanningens Silverstudio for additional recording,
some mastering and fooling around. Then I'll
finish the album at home. I guess I'm about 25%
done at the moment. But I'm pretty satisfied so
far.
The songs on the album are: It's Time, Numbers,
1986, Comicon '09, Twenty Four Hours, 15 Minutes
and 4:50 To The Moon. And they're all about
numbers, time, the moon, astronauts and usual
suspects.
Also. I will finally make most of my old records
available on CDR again. Beginning with the A
Little Sound-trilogy wich will be re-released on
February 18. There will be 25 numbered copies of
each in the first bach. More will follow.

Oh Yeah! Two enchanted evenings will take the
cake out of this decade. First - I will play
some music (REAL music. With REAL artists!) @
Landet on Dec 30. When Cosy Den presents the
utterly awesome
Tada
Tádā,
The Andersen Tapes and
de
Montevert live.
A complete playlist of my obnoxious 'discflippin'
will follow shortly after the event.
And the day after that - the usual new year
party with the usual suspects. Fun!

Happiness don't have to be so complicated.. Last
week I got my first fanmade video on YouTube. Mr
Cosy Den himself - Mattias Jansson - made this
minimalistic, yet beautiful video for the song
There's no such thing as a sun.
And as if that wasn't enough -
♥♥♥ - Micke from Klubb King Kong named it
"Song of the day" in his blog.

Since I haven't actually recorded much lately...
And since my latest records have been released
solely on the "web". I've decided to make a
"live" album with the songs I'm going to play on
Cosy Den next week. It will be released in 30
copies and sold, together with a lyrics-sheet
and one of my 7" that-night-only for 40:-. Two
of the songs on it are from the forthcoming
Swindie LP. These versions will NOT be available
anywhere else. Soo... Good luck with that.

Since Mary is away on secret adventures in
Africa,
The Baseball Field will play a gig with new
bandmember - Lauren at
Lundafesten.
Lauren has almost 18 years of competitive Lo-Fi
experience. She not only sang and played
keyboards on Varsity in High School, but was
drafted by Columbus State University in Georgia
and played for Troy University in Alabama. She
has been singing and dancing in competitive
Lo-Fi-All-Star squads for over 10 years and has
extensive experience teaching Lo-Fi to children
ages 3 to 18.
Her band-fronting experience spans almost 15
years and specializes in Co-Ed partner stunts
and competitive routine choreography. Lauren
also provides music mixing services for area
cheer squad routines.
Lauren is currently unemployed and homeless.
ABOUT ME.
My name is
Joakim Johnsson. I live in Nyköping, Sweden. And
I've been experimenting with noise, sound and
melody as The Baseball Field
for almost 15 years.
I played bass in the now legendary and sadly
forgotten best fucking post punk garage rock
unit out of Nyköping - Music / Ninja.
Me and my
friend Fredrik also have a band called
The Bodonis.
ABOUT MARY.
Mary is my
partner in crime. A voice that melts ice and
dances in the rain...
GIGS.

Mattias Sköld - Vocals and a little bit of
synthesizer.
TBF spent two
wonderful days in the deepest of Swedish
forests. And performed their most synth-pop gig
ever. Much due to the boring sounds of the
Roland E50. An instrument wich has now been
traded in for an Aria Pro electric guitar. Two
things made this gig very special. The dog. And
the extensive consumption of limedrinks.
